Bryce Harper appeared to take a long appreciative look at the 437-foot homer he hit in the third inning on Tuesday night. The Atlanta Braves didn't appear to appreciate that.
On the next pitch Harper saw in the fifth inning, Braves pitcher Julio Teheran hit him in the thigh with a 94-mph fastball. The 20-year-old immediately started barking at Teheran as he made his way to first base. Atlanta catch Brian McCann became upset, presumably about something Harper yelled, and needed to be separated by the home plate umpire. Both benches cleared but no punches were thrown and the commotion quickly died down.
Not on Twitter, though.
@Braves Which part, giving up the home run, or drilling the 20-year-old on the first pitch his next time up?
