CeeLo Reveals 'The Voice' Mascot He Couldn't Keep (VIDEO)

The Scoop On CeeLo's New 'Voice' Mascot

CeeLo Green is officially back on "The Voice" for the show's fifth season, but he's still mulling over what kind of creature will accompany him.

CeeLo's previous mascots have included Purrfect, the fluffy white cat, and Lady, the pink Moluccan cockatoo. So what critter is next for Team CeeLo?

He told HuffPost Live's Marc Lamont Hill that he has "been really taking suggestions." CeeLo does, however, know that the next mascot will promote animal welfare, just like Purrfect, who was a rescue cat, and Lady, who represents an endangered species of bird.

"I got a little gang of animals. I've adopted a rescue animal unit and I've made them partners," CeeLo said on HuffPost Live. "It helps facilitate and fund their philanthropy."

While CeeLo's next mascot is still a mystery, there is one animal that certainly won't be making it to the "Voice" stage.

"I tried something ... but it didn't work, so I guess I can tell you," he said. "I brought a big boa constrictor on there. We did an episode, and they may use it as an outtake or something like that ... It was a little hard to manage, and the jokes, like the B story, wasn't the same ... It didn't work. What can I say?"
