What's the number-one reason couples divorce?

According to Lamar Tyler, the co-founder of BlackAndMarriedWithKids.com, it's not money or infidelity or any of the other commonly cited causes. Instead, Tyler told HuffPost Live host Caitlyn Becker that it's failing to work on the marriage that really drives couples to divorce.

"The reason for divorce is not money, it's not sex, it's not communication breakdowns," he said. "The number-one reason is when at least one person isn't willing to do what is required to stay in that relationship."

So what is required, exactly?

"What's required could be going to see a therapist before you have issues. It could be having those tough face-to-face conversations. It could be making sure you invest that alone time," he said, noting that it varies from couple to couple.
