NYC Comptroller Candidate Arrested For Selling Drugs

A candidate for New York City comptroller was arrested Tuesday for selling prescription drugs.

According to a criminal complaint, Kristin Davis, a former Manhattan madam, allegedly sold hundreds of Adderall, Xanax and ecstasy pills to an informant cooperating with the FBI.

FBI AD Venizlos “Kristin Davis sold prescription pills not once, but rather 4 different times in 4 months to an FBI cooperating witness."

Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said Davis sold the drugs "to a known drug dealer on repeated occasions in exchange for cash."

Davis, who claims to have once supplied opponent Eliot Spitzer with prostitutes, was scheduled to appear in federal court Tuesday, NBC reports.

The Libertarian candidate told the Daily News last month that she was looking forward to the "funnest campaign ever.”

“I’ve been waiting for my day to face [Spitzer] for five years,” Davis, who spent three months in prison for running an escort service, told the paper at the time. “I sat ... in Rikers Island, I came out penniless and nothing happened to him. The hypocrisy there is huge.”

On her campaign website, Davis describes herself as "a feminist, entrepreneur, and former Wall Street Hedge Fund Vice President" who has the "financial management and business experience to be an effective fiscal watchdog for the New York taxpayer."
