'Downton Abbey' Cast Looks Very Different On The Red Carpet (PHOTOS)

Posted: Updated:

Any good "Downton Abbey" fan is well-versed in the show's period costumes. The glitzy beading, feathered hats and glam '20s hairstyles are pretty much half the reason we watched the show in the first place.

So what happens when our favorite Brits are plucked from the show's regal set and placed on the modern-day red carpet? A complete fashion brain explosion. Lady Mary in an Elie Saab short suit? Edith in a Moschino Cheap and Chic minidress? And Daisy in a floral printed frock from Zara? This is just too much.

Check out a few of the cast members attending a "Downton Abbey" photo call yesterday and tell us: Do you have a hard time recognizing them without their period duds?
