The 2013 Wizard World Chicago Comic Con is already in high gear, bringing with it the annual parade of cosplayers, geek-approved cebrities and a weekend's worth of comic knowledge one-upmanship.
Sometimes-Chicagoan Michael Shannon (or General Zod to those of you who caught this summer's blockbuster, "Man Of Steel") is among the marquee guests at this years event, along with Zachary Quinto (the "Star Trek" reboots), and director Robert Rodriguez ("Sin City").
The biggest draw is likely to be the king of comics himself, Marvel co-creator Stan Lee. The comic legend will give a Friday Q&A panel, followed by appearances and autograph signings throughout the weekend.
This year, the convention is also putting all of its social media -- videos, photos, Tweets and more -- into one mobile destination that can be instantly translated into some 70 different languages (maybe Wookiee and Klingon?)
If you're out and about enjoying the festivities, snap a photo and send it our way (or use The Force, whatever floats your boat): Chicago [at] huffingtonpost [dot] com.
Wizard World Chicago Comic Con is Aug. 8-11 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, 5555 N. River Rd.
