Nazario Cruz, Jose Urias, Accused Of Luring Men On Blind Dates To Rob Them

Guys, if you're looking for love online, here's a tip: Be very suspicious if your prospective date asks you to show up with lots of cash.

That was the alleged M.O. used by a trio of Bay Area teens who are accused of trolling the social network Badoo.com looking for "dates" and then robbing the guys when it was time to meet. The trio posed as a young woman whose fantasy was to have sex while rolling around in cold hard cash, Mountain View Patch reported.

Police in Mountain View, Calif., arrested Nazario Cruz and Jose Urias, both 19, along with a female juvenile on Thursday for alleged robbery.

When the victims would arrive at the designated meeting spot with cash in hand, police say the suspects -- one of whom was armed -- would rob them, NBC Bay Area reported.

Three robberies have been confirmed so far, but police are hoping others will come forward, according to SFIst.com

One of the victims allegedly stole $2,000 in cash from his job in order to roll around with the fictitious woman, CBS San Francisco reported. He has since been fired.

Police had been working on the case since May and finally traced the suspects' locations using communications sent between the robbers and their victims, according to SFBay.ca.

Although no money was found in the arrests, police did recover a pellet gun that may have been used in the robberies, PaloAltoOnline.com reported.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Det. Kevin Galloway at 650-903-6150 ext. 6624, or an anonymous SMS tip to 274637 and include "mvtips" in the body of the text.
