It's only the first season finale of "King & Maxwell," but could it already be the end of their pairing? The Secret Service wanted Michelle Maxwell back, and they were willing to offer her her dream job in order to get her. But after spending this much time working alongside Sean King, would she take them up on it?
It turns out, he was able to offer her something even more valuable, and so she turned down the job. This left King stunned. "Michelle, that’s the career you worked for," he told her.
“You said I was the only person you could trust," Maxwell said, as an explanation of sorts. When King asked her if that fact meant more to her than the Secret Service, she responded, "That means more to me than anything.”
It was good news for Jane Boursaw of Reel Life With Jane. "Thank goodness Michelle isn’t going back to the Secret Service," she wrote. "I knew she wouldn’t. I mean, she could have, but then they’d have to change the title of the show to just “King,” and that’s not nearly as catchy.”
Now that the name can stay the same, though, will the show come back for a second season? TV Series Finale points out that "King & Maxwell" doesn't do as well as some of the bigger TNT hits like "Major Crimes" and "Rizzoli & Isles," but the site does feel it warrants a second season -- as its ratings are comparable to solid performers "Falling Skies" and "Perception."
