It’s finally here: Shakira’s post-baby body magazine cover.
The Colombian star may have rocked Elle’s July cover with a loose Versace top, but as SELF magazine’s September cover girl the songstress proudly reveals her toned abs just seven months after giving birth to her first child and her secret to getting back in shape.
In the interview with the magazine, the 36-year-old singer said her initial motivation to get back in shape quickly was to be camera-ready to be a coach on NBC’s The Voice just two months after having baby Milan. Shakira spent a month in Barcelona with beau Gerard Piqué working on her post baby body.
“I did Zumba throughout my pregnancy. That helped me not gain too much weight," Shakira told SELF, adding that after giving birth she continued to Zumba four to five mornings a week and even had a week of private training session with its creator and CEO, Beto Perez.
Shaki had already given fans a glimpse of her killer bikini bod during her romantic getaway in Hawaii last month, but the star reveals that there’s one asset in particular she’s very proud of.
"I'm quite proud of my rear," the singer-songwriter revealed along with how she toned it back in shape.
The Colombian beauty shares eating and exercise tips in the September issue, set to hit newsstands on August 20th and she stresses the importance of staying positive.
"I don't obsess over my flaws, because I see my body as a whole," the new mom told the magazine. "Besides, I think men appreciate confidence more than perfection."
