Man Nearly Denied Life-Saving Procedure Over 26-Cent Insurance Discrepancy

When 33-year-old truck driver Sergio Branco was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, doctors said he needed a bone marrow transplant to live. But after Sergio's wife, Mara, mistakenly underpaid the insurance company by 26 cents, the company terminated Sergio's coverage, making it impossible for him to afford the transplant.
