I'm the kind of girl who doesn't like to spend a lot of time in the shower. I'm more of a "cover the basics and get out of there" kind of lady. Of course, that was much easier to do when I was young. But alas, I am a woman, and most women (in America at least) do not like to have armpit or leg hair.
Until about half a year ago, my shaving routine included the typical Skintimate shaving cream and a disposable Daisy razor. I graduated to a Venus razor, but didn't switch from my middle school-style shaving cream (baby steps). So when I got the chance to try out this fancy Shaveworks Pearl Soufflé Shave Cream, I figured it was the perfect time to mature.
What was interesting to me about this shaving cream was that it didn't come out as a typical thick cream, so I'm not entirely sure soufflé should be added to the name. Instead, it's more of a gel-like substance that sort of glides over your skin, leaving a thin layer for you to move your razor over.
The color of the cream resembles a pearl, which I thought was cute. It also smells really good. It has a sort of musky yet feminine fragrance, which I find to be a great relief from the floral scented drugstore shaving creams.

I usually shave pretty fast and hastily, (remember how much I love efficiency?) so one of my major issues is nicks and cuts, especially in my knee area. Want to hear the bad news? I still cut myself with the ShaveWorks cream (but maybe I'm just a bad shaver). Nothing really changed with my whole shaving experience, per se.
However, the product boasts that it "exfoliates and reduces irritation," and that it "moisturizes and nourishes for smooth, silky skin that looks barer longer." Did it? I definitely wasn't as irritated in my lower region after using the product, and I didn't end up with as many razor bumps as I usually do. But my skin didn't really stay smooth and silky longer than if I had just used regular shaving cream. My hair grew back at the same time that it normally does (after about a week).
Rating: 3 out of 5. It definitely feels better than shaving with a drugstore brand, but for the price, it just doesn't hold up to its promises.
