Fox Orders College Comedy From Tina Fey, Matt Hubbard And Robert Carlock Straight To Series

Fox has ordered a new untitled comedy from Tina Fey straight to series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The multicamera comedy is set in a women's college that is opening its doors to male students for the first time, and hails from Fey and fellow "30 Rock" executive producers Matt Hubbard and Robert Carlock. Hubbard is set to write the half-hour project, while Fey has no plans to star.

After NBC acquired Fey's first post-"30 Rock" project from writer Colleen McGuinness (also an alum of the Fey/Alec Baldwin comedy), interest among the networks was high for the college comedy, which reportedly sparked a bidding war.

Fey is under a four-year overall production deal at Universal Television, which is already proving lucrative given the interest in both new series. The actress, who's up for an Emmy this year for her work on the final season of "30 Rock," is also working on a "Mean Girls" stage musical with husband Jeff Richmond.
