'Today' Bids Farewell To Set In Studio 1A (VIDEO)

"Today" bid farewell to the studio that has housed the morning show for the past seven years.

Last week, the NBC morning broadcast announced that the set would undergo a facelift. The show replayed footage from 2006, when the network debuted its brand new studio. The hosts gave viewers a tour, starting from the news desk where the anchors begin each show.

"From breaking news to groundbreaking moments, this has been our seat to watch it all unfold; our daily front row seat to history, yours as well," Lauer said.

"I think she's served us well," Lauer said of the studio. Co-hosts Natalie Morales and Savannah Guthrie raised glasses of champagne to toast the space.

Some pieces of the "Today" set will head to the Newseum in Washington, D.C. "Today" will unveil its new set in September.
