DNC To Vote On Resolution Calling On Bob Filner To Resign

The Democratic National Committee is set to vote on a resolution calling on San Diego Mayor Bob Filner to resign, CNN reports.

According to CNN, the vote will take place this week.

DNC Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) has already called on Filner to resign over sexual harassment allegations reported by as many as 15 women, including a 67-year-old great-grandmother.

"The misconduct Mayor Bob Filner has been accused of is reprehensible and indefensible," Wasserman Schultz said. "I am personally offended by his actions and I firmly believe no employee should face a hostile environment or harassment at their place of employment."

Other prominent Democrats have called on Filner to resign, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

Despite apologizing for his actions, Filner has refused to resign. He recently completed "intensive therapy" at a behavioral counseling clinic.
