Melanie Griffith is heading to "Hawaii Five-0" for one mother of a role. CBS announced that the "Working Girl" star will play the role of Danny "Danno'" Williams' (Scott Caan) mother in the show's upcoming fourth season.

The network announced the casting via their official Twitter feed on Tuesday morning, although further details on her character and the duration of her stay were not immediately available.

Christine Lahti joined the show at the beginning of Season 3 in the recurring guest role of Doris McGarrett, mother to Danno's partner, Steve (Alex O'Loughlin). Fingers crossed that the two kick-ass matriarchs will have the opportunity to meet in Season 4. Griffith's recent small-screen credits include "Raising Hope" and "Hot in Cleveland."

"Hawaii Five-0" returns on Friday, Sept. 27 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
