It's not always easy to get people to get to care about climate change, HuffPost reporter Kate Sheppard admitted during a recent presentation. It can be frustrating, especially because changes in global climate threaten to impact everyone, regardless of politics or beliefs.
In the video above, from an Aug. 15 event held by Climate Desk in collaboration with thirstDC and the Science Online Climate conference, Sheppard explains that climate change is a transpartisan issue. It's both possible and important to communicate with potential Republican skeptics on the issue, Sheppard says, because climate change is linked to a broad array of other conservative issues.
