NYC Mayoral Candidates Voice Support For Public Drinking

During a series of rapid fire questions at the New York City mayoral debate Wednesday evening, the candidates certainly had their differences. But when asked if they should be allowed to drink beers outside on their stoop, almost all the candidates gave a definitive "yes."

Former Representative Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) even took the idea a bit further. "I should be able to drink 'em in a park and at the beach too."

Of the seven hopefuls, Rev. Erick Salgado was the only one to disagree. "No beer at all," he said.

The candidates were asked a number of questions about their lives in the city during the quick fire session, including whether they'd recently borrowed a book from a public library and if they had ever texted while driving.

Weiner replied to the latter question with a brief and conclusive "yes." Twitter, of course, responded accordingly:
