Get ready for another dose of Michael Bay-directed destruction, Chicago.
"Transformers 4" -- which stars Mark Wahlberg -- is set to begin shooting in the Windy City this week.
McCormick Place will be the site of filming on Friday, when the venue's Square and parts of King Drive are expected to be the backdrop for an action sequence, according to the OnLocationVacations.com blog.
According to the Chicago Tribune, shooting is expected to begin in and near the Loop at locations including East Randolph Street (between North Stetson Avenue and North Field Boulevard) and South Columbus Drive between East Jackson Drive and East Randolph Street), plus additional "aerial work" nearby.
The weekend filming locations aren't far from where "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" was shot in 2010.
Filming of the action blockbuster will continue into the new week as the production heads north to the heart of the city's Uptown neighborhood. DNAinfo Chicago reports film crews will shoot on Aug. 28 and 29 at and near the Uptown Theatre and the Green Mill Jazz Club.
Of course, the filming will mean intermittent road closures and traffic reroutes near the shooting locations.
The production is expected to remain in town for filming through Oct. 2, according to the Tribune.
Meanwhile, "Transformers" isn't the only show in town when it comes to TV and film production crews currently shooting in Chicago. As we've previously noted, "Jupiter Ascending" is also filming in the Windy City -- stars Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum have been spotted around town numerous times as of late -- and a number of television shows are also shooting.
