Barcelona players have celebrated plenty of David Villa goals over the last few seasons but found themselves on the wrong end of his latest golazo.
Facing his old teammates for the first time since joining Atletico Madrid during the summer, Villa netted the opening goal in the first leg of Spanish Super Cup on Wednesday night. In the 12th minute, the 31-year-old Spaniard sent a sizzling right-footed volley past Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes.
Neymar, the 21-year-old Brazilian phenom being counted on to replace Villa's production, scored an equalizer for Barcelona in the second half. His first score for the Blaugrana was the final tally in the 1-1 first leg draw.
