While a $220 fine is in the rear-view mirror, Liz Cheney's fishing license fiasco is far from finished.
“It was my mistake not to realize there was a 365-day requirement to hold a resident license,” she said in a statement obtained by the paper. “The clerk did not ask how long I had lived in Wyoming."
Wyoming Game & Fish Department rules expressly state that a full year of residency is required to obtain a fishing license. Two weeks ago, Cheney made a similar remark to the Casper Star-Tribune on the clerk side of the miscue.
“The clerk must have made a mistake,” Cheney told the Star-Tribune. “I never claimed to be a 10-year resident."
