The only thing that stood between Scott Brown's 319-yard tee shot and water was a narrow bridge. Miraculously, the ball bounced off the bridge and rolled within three feet of the cup. That set up an eagle tap-in for Brown Thursday on the par-4 16th hole at The Barclays in Jersey City, N.J.

Brown couldn't have asked for better fortune on an errant shot -- unless of course the ball had gone into the cup. And that would have defied astronomical odds. According to CBS Sports, just one hole-in-one has been made on a par 4 in PGA Tour history.

But while many would consider his shot lucky, Brown has proven he can be good. In March he won the Puerto Rico Open for his first victory.
