Mary Gorham Malia On Attitudes Towards Lesbians And The Feminist Movement (VIDEO)

According to some, two groups of women -- lesbians and women of color -- have been on the outskirts of the feminist movement in order for the movement to gain wider attention from the general public.

HuffPost Live discussed the topic when Mary Gorham Malia, who runs Gay Girl Dating Coach, spoke with host Tiffany Williams about the professional problems she's faced since coming out.

"I worked as a director for the National Center Missing and Exploited Children, and I left that job and could not get hired because I decided to be all the way out of the closet, and there was nobody who would hire," she said. "So I launched into my own business to help my own community."

Last year Malia held a tele-summit entitled Live Your Best Lesbian Life. To hear her speak about the summit, and hardships facing lesbians, including violence, watch the clip above and check out the entire segment here.
