WATCH: Muslim Leader 'Hopeful' De Blasio Can Change NYPD's View Of Muslim-Americans

In light of the recent news that the NYPD has been spying on mosques, Arab American Association Director Linda Sarsour weighed in on how this will figure into the the city's mayoral race.

With Bill de Blasio calling for an end to both stop-and-frisk and broad-based racial mapping, Sarsour says she's "hopeful" that this will aid in the change of the perception of New York City's Muslim-Americans.

"I think this is the time for New York City to go to the polls and cast their vote for the mayor they think is going to end stop-and-frisk, end discriminatory policing against the American-Muslim community, but really against all New Yorkers and particularly people of color," said Sarsour. "So I'm hopeful."
