Kelly Wearstler's One Rule For Success Is All About Learning From Others (VIDEO)

There's something you can learn (aside from color tips) from this fabulous designer.

Before Kelly Wearstler was the fabulous designer she is today, she waited tables. And although she had the passion, talent and drive to become one of the most well-known names in the business, she couldn't have done it without her one rule for success that she continues to follow today.

In a new interview with Into The Gloss, Wearstler reveals that the only way to succeed in the business world is by learning from others. “Someone said to me once, ‘If you want to succeed, make sure every person you hire is better than you in every department.’ I want to learn from them. In growing a business, that’s so important.”

And although it's safe to say she's pretty much "made it" in the design world, she's always working on improving herself. “I am not good at letting go and letting my mind turn off – I’m not great with that. Also, for me, speaking in front of people is terrible. If it’s more than 2 people, I can’t do it. When we have presentations in the office, I can’t do it. I was so shy when I was little—really, really shy. It’s gotten better, but I still have to work on it."
