DAMASCUS, Aug 31 (Reuters) - The team of U.N. chemical weapons inspectors left their Damascus hotel early on Saturday, a Reuters witness said, and appeared to be leaving the country.

The witness saw the team's convoy of vehicles head onto a highway that leads to neighbouring Lebanon.
