Howard Kurtz's new weekend media show "Media Buzz" debuted on Fox News Sunday.

The show consisted of panels discussing media criticism, similar to Kurtz's former show CNN's "Reliable Sources." The premiere featured Baltimore Sun critic David Zurawik, the Washington Post’s Nia-Malika Henderson and Lauren Ashburn debating the media's performance on Syria, according to the Post's Erik Wemple as well as segments about media coverage of Yahoo! CEO Marissa Meyer and the New York City mayoral race.

Kurtz announced in June that he was leaving CNN for Fox News. The move came six weeks after he parted ways with Newsweek and the Daily Beast, where he was Washington bureau chief, in May.

The embattled media critic had been under fire for his bungled reporting about Jason Collins, the first openly gay male athlete in a major professional sport, in addition to his relationship with a website called the Daily Download.
