Chicago Labor Day Time-Lapse Film Shows A Gorgeous City In Waning Days Of Summer (VIDEO)

Regular readers know we're big fans of seeing the city through time-lapse video, so we were thrilled when our friends at Chicagoist dug a recent gem from this past Labor Day.

On his website, the photographer Brandon Nicklaus wrote:

"A Day in Chicago is a 'just for fun' piece containing over 5,000 photographs shot with a Nikon D5100 on the labor day [sic] weekend in 2013." Nicklaus said he's still "in the learning process" with the the video (embedded above).

The main views are taken looking out east over Navy Pier and looking north along Lake Shore Drive from just outside the Loop. Stray observations: Navy Pier has never looked prettier (and you gotta love the fireworks in time-lapse!) and the sped-up snapshots give the impression that Chicago boaters are totally zany.
