Lenny Kravitz can now add set designer to his growing resume. The singer/actor/ designer created the backdrop for Queen Latifah's new daytime talk show "The Queen Latifah Show" premiering today, September 16.
Frank Lloyd Wright, Karl Springer, Zaha Hadid and Latifah herself were all design inspiration for the project, The Hollywood Reporter wrote. "If I scan through daytime talk-show sets, I don't find much inspiring design," Kravitz told them. He prefers mod decor from the '60s and '70s, which you can see a hint of in the neutral tones and clean lines he chose for the set.
Of course, the rock star isn't new to design -- he opened Kravitz Design Inc. in 2003 and has his own lines developing Swarovski chandeliers and a modern chair for Kartell. In fact, producer for Queen's show, Jada Pinkett Smith, decided Kravitz was the man for the job after seeing luxury penthouses he completed at the SLS Hotel South Beach. And we're sure we'll see even more from him in the future. Kravitz said last year on “Fashion: Backstage Pass” that he has big plans for his company to be a lifestyle brand, similar to Ralph Lauren's.
