'The Voice' Season 5: Adam Levine Talks Strategy And Getting The Band Back Together (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO)

'The Voice' Is Almost Back!

"The Voice" is almost back (Season 5 premieres Mon., Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC), and while we're obviously excited for Christina and Cee Lo's return, we've also got our eyes on another coach this season.

Adam Levine always gives incredibly thoughtful critiques and has consistently tried to build diverse and interesting teams each season. But since his big win with Javier Colon in Season 1, he's had less luck, losing to Blake Shelton the past three seasons. HuffPost TV has a fun exclusive behind-the-scenes look (above) at what Adam has to say about his strategy this season, and getting the original gang back together.

"I love the fact that everyone's getting back together -- the original kind of posse that made everything great before," Levine says. "There's only one group of coaches that initially made the show successful, and I love the fact that the purity of that is back again."

"The strategy kind of unfolds as the competition is going on," Levine says. "No good strategy stays the same -- it's always changing."

But it's not all competition -- the coaches have a lot of love for each other. "I missed Christina's awesome inability to take any of my bullshit," Levine says with a laugh, nodding at their tension (sexual or otherwise). "Cee Lo, I missed his freakiness. I love Cee Lo. I love the way he smells. I love his musk. He's a wonderful man. I'm happy that they're back."
