Danica Patrick To Co-Host American Country Awards With Singer Trace Adkins

Danica Patrick To Co-Host Country Awards

This is said to be the first time that Patrick will host a full-length TV show and the Sprint Cup rookie says she's thrilled at the opportunity.

“I’m so excited to host the American Country Awards with Trace Adkins,” she told the Detroit Free Press. “I have no doubt he’ll be able to keep up with me. I’ve become a huge fan of country music since I came to NASCAR. This is going to be a really cool experience, and I’m excited to be a part of it.”

Earlier from the AP:

Patrick will have an experienced hand to guide her [as she prepares for the hosting gig on Dec. 10]. Adkins has overseen the show since it began four years ago. Last year, his sidekick was Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth.

The show will air live on Fox from the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas.

Patrick says she's become a fan of country music since she joined the NASCAR circuit, and she's appeared in videos with Miranda Lambert and Colt Ford.

Adkins' new album of Celtic-infused Christmas carols, "The King's Gift," comes out Oct. 29.
