'Saturday Night Live' Alum Ana Gasteyer Says There's 'Way Too Much Emphasis' Placed On Life After 'SNL'

Ana Gasteyer: 'There's Too Much Emphasis Placed On Life After "SNL"'

Although she's been off the show since 2002, Ana Gasteyer is all too familiar with the pressure "Saturday Night Live" can put on an actor.

While chatting with HuffPost Live, Gasteyer said that the second she was cast on "SNL," everyone was asking about her next move.

"There's way too much emphasis placed [on what you do after 'SNL']," Gasteyer said. "The second you get it it's like, 'Oh, it's your launching pad! What's next, what's next?'"

Gasteyer, who now stars on "Suburgatory" and recurs on "The Good Wife," went on to say that the "SNL"gang is a bit mob-like.

"When you leave there's sort of a mafia sensibility," she said. "You can't really leave, you can't really get out."

Catch Gasteyer on Season 3 of "Suburgatory," premiering on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 9:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
