The hosts of "Fox and Friends" grilled Marco Rubio on Wednesday over Republican efforts to defund Obamacare.
House Republicans recently passed a bill to defund Obamacare in order to avoid government shutdown. Senator Ted Cruz spoke for 21 hours to protest the Democrat majority Senate, which has promised to remove the Obamacare provision, rejecting it. His strategy has been widely criticized by top Republicans,
On Wednesday, Hasselbeck asked Rubio to respond to criticism of Cruz's plan. "Are you prepared to go down with the ship if, indeed, it does turn into a blame game with Republicans?" she asked. "Your name, Ted Cruz's name certainly are going to be the frontrunners in terms of fault here."
"Well, fault for what?" Rubio responded.
"Government shutdown," Steve Doocy said.
Rubio said that the government could continue running with or without Obamacare. Later, he denied that Cruz's efforts were "hurting" the GOP.
