A woman in Colorado allegedly confessed to police that she had beaten a man to death with a baseball bat after suspecting him of sexually assaulting a child.
According to a report by 7News, Forsythia Eliese Owen, 30, approached 42-year-old Denzel Rainey while he was sleeping in an alley and began hitting him with a baseball bat. She alleges that he was still breathing when she left the scene on Sept. 22.
"Owen stood up and said she killed him," the affidavit says. "Owen swung her hands back and forth and demonstrated how she struck Rainey over and over again because of what he did to [name redacted]."
An autopsy report found that Rainey had suffered six broken ribs that cut into his liver, two broken arms, a broken wrist, a skull fracture and multiple blunt force injuries.
Police say Rainey was later pronounced dead at Denver's Swedish Medical Center.
According to The Denver Post, before Owen was interviewed by authorities on Monday, she posted "Going to prison!" on her Facebook wall.
Owen is being held in the Arapahoe County Detention Center without bond.
