'Big Bang Theory' Ratings Hit Series High, 'The Crazy Ones' Comes In Second

Posted: Updated:

"The Big Bang Theory" just keeps getting bigger: Thursday's Season 7 premiere was its highest-rated premiere ever, bringing in 18.9 million viewers, with 5.6 in the coveted 18-49 demo.

So what got viewers so excited? Perhaps they just missed the CBS series, but the storyline itself was a compelling one. With Leonard (Johnny Galecki) away, Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) attempted to strengthen their bond by telling each other their deepest darkest secrets.

Coming in second was the "The Crazy Ones." Starring Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar, the series premiere brought in 15.6 million viewers, with 4 million in the 18-49 demo.

Over on NBC, "The Michael J. Fox" show premiered to 7.28 million viewers a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demo.

"The Big Bang Theory" airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS; "The Crazy Ones" airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
