Mark Wahlberg is many things: actor, director, producer, and yes, a homeowner who tried to sell a home in Beverly Hills for literally half a decade. Well, the good news is, after five years of being on and off -- but mostly on -- the market, the place just sold for $12.995 million. It's not quite the $15.9 million he hoped to get when he listed in October of 2008, but it'll do.

Wahlberg has moved on from the 11,500-square-foot Mediterranean estate and lives in another house he built nearby. His finally-sold house sits on 1.75 acres and has five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, a guesthouse, a pool with a grotto and waterfalls and a sports court. There's also a fully-quipped gym and a full-size boxing ring, where he trained for his starring role in "The Fighter" (2010).

The Hollywood A-lister is well-known for his executive producing work on "Entourage," "How To Make It In America" and "Boardwalk Empire." He earned Oscar nominations for starring in "The Fighter" and "The Departed." But what's been his toughest role to date? Going back and getting his high school diploma at age 42, the high school dropout told The Huffington Post last month. He did it to be a role model, he said. Hats off, Mark!

Felix Pena of Hilton & Hyland in Beverly Hills shared the listing with Hillel Sanowicz of Keller Williams Realty, Sunset Plaza. Elise Woroboff of Keller Williams’ Beverly Hills office represented the buyer.
