Michelin Director Michael Ellis Shares The Downside To Being A Food Critic (VIDEO)

Michael Ellis has a job most food lovers can only dream about -- as International Director of the Michelin Guides, he is responsible for continuing the restaurant guide legacy that began in 1900.

But when Ellis sat down with our HuffPost Live team, he revealed that being a Michelin food critic might not be all that it sounds like. Though the reviewers who assign the coveted Michelin stars get to travel and test the best restaurants worldwide, their lives are largely spent independently, forced to leave behind their families and friends. He also admitted that, though averaging 10 incredible meals per week may sound like a dream, there is only so much foie gras that a Michelin critic can stand to eat (yes, apparently you can get sick of incredible food).
