Reddit Founder Thinks Government Should Be Like Kim Kardashian

Kardashian sister. Reality star. Model. Model for government?

During a conversation on National Security Agency surveillance with HuffPost Live's Ahmed Shihab-Eldin, Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian said that the U.S. government should be more like Kim Kardashian.

Hear him out.

"What I hope happens is that we can start to see a better system of government that represents 'We The People,'" Ohanian said. "I don't know what the future holds...but we can see what Kim Kardashian is having for breakfast, or I guess lunch, right now. We have transparency for some of the silliest and most ridiculous things. We should have that same expectation of government. If we can see her brunch, I want to know what my representative or senator is doing."

Ohanian tied the analogy into how Internet-loving Americans worked together to topple anti-piracy bills that would have harmed sites like Reddit. Ohanian was on HuffPost Live to promote his new book "Without Their Permission," a part-memoir, part-manifesto about how others can follow in his footsteps.

He did leave an important question unanswered though: How does Kanye fit into all of this?
