Illustrator Katie Daisy On The Transformative Power of Art (VIDEO)

WATCH: Illustrator Turns Simple Messages Into Something Beautiful

Oregon-based illustrator Katie Daisy is the artist behind the popular line of inspirational prints sold on her Etsy shop, The Wheatfield by Katie Daisy. In this original short film from "Super Soul Sunday" on OWN, Daisy gives viewers a glimpse into her creative process and how she gathers inspiration for her work.

"Art is magic," Daisy says in the video. "It has the ability to change lives through color, message and imagery."

Using watercolors and acrylics, she incorporates images of nature with inspiring messages, like "Love more" or "Be still."

"I illustrate letter forms because I can take simple, everyday shapes and turn them into something beautiful," she says.

Daisy explains why she believes in the transformative power of nature.

"At a very young age, I knew there was no separateness between my soul and the natural world," she says. "I would spend hours wading through the creek, gazing at the clouds and dreaming among the wild flowers. Nature is absolutely essential to my well-being and to my art."

"Super Soul Sunday" airs Sundays at 11 a.m. ET on OWN.
