Soft Cabinets Made With Rubber Foam Look More Like Cartoons Than Furniture (PHOTOS)

When you think of a china cabinet, you're probably imagining the heavy walnut hutch from your grandma's dining room. Well, think again. Dutch designers Studio Dewi Van De Klomp have put a surprising twist on this classic and several other furniture pieces by creating them out of -- foam rubber.

Yes, we did a double take, too. The funny-looking units stand on curved legs, making them appear more like characters from Disney's "Beauty And The Beast" than furniture. They have a series of slits cut into the dense material that "hug" your plates, bowls and mugs, holding them in place. Though we're not sure if we suggest storing your favorite vintage Wedgewood tea set inside -- just in case. Click through the photos below, then head over to their website to see more designs.
