Awful Poster At Twitter HQ Basically Proves It's Male-Dominated

Really, Twitter? This week of all weeks?

Twitter engineering manager Jill Wetzler tweeted the following photo of a sign she saw at Twitter headquarters on Wednesday.

Seen on a sign in the @twoffice. In the women's bathroom no less. Think this is directed at me? #facepalm pic.twitter.com/HNn0TYrqOm

Wetzler's colleagues at Twitter were unhappy with the sign as well:

@JillWetzler @twoffice I was super pissed off about this when I saw it

@JillWetzler @twoffice oy vey -____-

@JillWetzler @sharonw @twoffice Ugh, we should be better than this.

The timing of this sign, clearly aimed at straight men, could not be more terrible. Twitter CEO Dick Costolo has been attempting to defend Twitter's board against critics bemoaning the fact that their are no women or people of color represented.

Twitter's not alone in Silicon Valley for having a mostly white-male board. Valleywag on Tuesday put out a chart documenting the scarcity of women directors at the top 17 tech companies.

Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
