Pat McAfee could very well become a "legend among kickers" as NBC's Cris Collinsworth suggested but he also may be fined by the NFL. The Colts' punter delivered a crushing hit on diminutive Broncos kick returner Trindon Holliday during the first half of "Sunday Night Football." McAfee appeared to lower his helmet as he knocked Holliday off his feet and out of bounds.

There was no flag on the play but plenty of commentary on Twitter, including a tweet from one of the more frequently fined players in the NFL.

Has a kicker ever been fined for a helmet-to-helmet hit?

Wow ... a punter's gonna get a fine for a dirty hit. That's fantastic. cc: @richeisen.

The hit by Pat McAfee on Trindon Holliday was helmet to helmet but not illegal. McAfee didn't use the top of his helmet.
