'Homeland' Renewed For Season 4 By Showtime

Showtime Renews 'Homeland'

Showtime has renewed its Emmy-winning CIA drama "Homeland" for a fourth season scheduled to air in 2014, the premium cable network announced Tuesday.

"'Homeland' continues to prove its strength for Showtime, and is one of television's most exciting, provocative and widely-discussed shows. It has grown its audience significantly in each of its three seasons," David Nevins, Showtime entertainment president, said in a statement.

Showtime also announced that it had renewed "Masters Of Sex" for a second season.

"Homeland's" third season third season has been heavily criticized of late for a controversial twist at the end of the show's recent "Game On" episode and for devoting too much time to the Dana Brody storyline.

"Homeland" stars Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin and Damian Lewis.

"Homeland" airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime.
