Suspects For Craigslist Killing In LA Arrested

Posted: Updated:

LOS ANGELES -- LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police have arrested two men they believe lured a man to his death with a Craigslist ad — gunning him down in front of his son.

Police on Monday announced the arrests but didn't immediately name the suspects.

Authorities say 41-year-old Rene Balbuena and his 15-year-old son were ambushed the night of Oct. 19 when they went to a South Los Angeles to buy a cellphone listed on Craigslist.

Police say two men approached their car and demanded money. When Balbuena got out of the car, one robber opened fire.

Balbuena was shot several times and died at the scene. His son was grazed.

Police say the robbers fled without getting any money.
