National Organization For Marriage Compares Gay Marriage To Incest

Anti-gay group the National Organization For Marriage (NOM) is back in action with a gross new meme on their Facebook that equates marriage benefits for gays and lesbians with incest and polygamy.

Quoting anti-gay pundit Laurie Higgins, who is identified as a "Cultural Analyst" for the Illinois Family Institute, the meme reads:

According to the New Civil Rights Movement, NOM has recently crossed into territory that is defined by the Southern Poverty Law Center as characteristic of an active hate group. The organizers of the NOM are experts at peddling hysteria surrounding rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) individuals, having previously used the suicide of a gay college student to push an anti-gay agenda and pouring absurd amounts of money into fighting the social and political gains of the LGBT movement.

Additionally, the Illinois Family Institute has been labeled as an active hate group in the past, with Laurie Higgins alone referring to same-sex attraction as "a disordering of the sexual impulse," equating defeating the LGBT movement with defeating slavery and Nazism, and comparing same-sex parenting to child abuse.
