Ladies know that the right lipstick has the power to transform your look -- but it can also serve as some amazing inspiration. That's precisely what it did for filmmaker Ava DuVernay.
DuVernay, who is the first African-American woman to win the Best Director Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, has teamed up with Fashion Fair cosmetics and created a stunning short film based around one of the company's lip colors called "Say Yes."
"The name of that lip color sparked the idea –- the ways we say no and the ways we should say yes to life, to opportunities, to the unexpected. That was the impetus for it,” DuVernay told Afrobella.com.
And beyond DuVernay's stunning directorial skills, you also get to feast your eyes on the film's beautiful leading actors -- Lance Gross and Kali Hawk. The duo are superb as they explore "the power of the affirmative, and the beauty that blossoms from embracing the twists, turns and mysteries of life."
We've already witnessed the magic that happens when DuVernay teams up with brand -- her collaboration with the Italian fashion house Miu Miu on "The Door," starring Gabrielle Union and Alfre Woodward, was breathtaking and this new project with Fashion Fair is no different.
