The View host Sherri Shepherd can appreciate her new co-host Jenny McCarthy's raunchy sense of humor, but there's one thing she misses about recently departed host Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
"Jenny and I aren't praying together in the morning. [Elizabeth and I] prayed together all the time," Shepherd told host Marc Lamont Hill on HuffPost Live.
"Elizabeth was my bridesmaid. She was in my wedding. Elizabeth and I, we were two church girls."
Despite their frequent battles on air, Shepherd revealed that she and Hasselbeck were close friends off set. "That's all you would see of Elizabeth, and that's what she got paid to -- she got paid to be that dissenting voice. So she committed to it and she did it, but off the air, you didn't see that she knew everybody--the kids' names, she would bring in food for everybody. If your child was sick, you could ask Lizzie."
"She was so compassionate, so much so that all my friends who would come to the show would ... leave saying, 'Elizabeth Hasselbeck is my favorite person. I love her.'"
Shepherd added that she thought Hasselbeck's new hosting gig on Fox & Friends was a great fit. "It's a great job. I'm really happy for her."
