How One Woman Is Fighting Cancer And Following Her Dreams (VIDEO)

WATCH: How One Woman's Diagnosis Spurred Her To Pursue A Dream Career

When entrepreneur Jill Brzezinski-Conley was diagnosed with cancer, she decided she wasn't going to let the disease defeat her -- instead, she turned it into an opportunity to achieve her goals.

Brzezinski-Conley told HuffPost Live host Nancy Redd that her health wasn't going to hold her back from pursuing her dreams. After quitting her job as a leasing consultant to focus on getting well, she founded a nonprofit organization as well as Jillybean's Barking Bones, a store that sells all-natural dog treats.

"It's hard -- you just really have to prioritize. The first thing I have to make sure I put number one is my health," Brzezinski-Conley said. "I think that when you're so passionate about something, it's so much easier."

According to career coach Roy Cohen, a good support system is also key when it comes to pursuing new goals. He told Brzezinski-Conley in the segment that without resources to tap into, achieving success -- whether it's in your professional or your personal life -- can become overwhelming.

"The energy I get from everybody else ... that's my chemo," Brzezinski-Conley said. "That's really what makes me get through each day."
