Help! My Husband Is Depressed, From Dr. Gail Saltz (VIDEO)

Are you worried that your partner is depressed? Psychiatrist Dr. Gail Saltz says that if you think your spouse is depressed, he most likely is, so be sure to bring him in for an evaluation by a psychiatrist. Just because you have something to be depressed about, like a job loss or other stressful circumstance, doesn't mean that treatment won't help. Look at what your insurance offers -- if you're not able to cover the cost financially, reach out to your local hospital and inquire about outpatient psychology -- they usually offer sliding scale treatment. Treating depression may not help the cause of it, but it will help your spouse to be able to rise up and overcome the situation that's causing the depression.
