Richie Incognito Speaks: 'I'm Just Trying To Weather The Storm Right Now' (VIDEO)

Suspended Incognito Breaks Silence

Suspended Miami Dolphins offensive guard Richie Incognito has broken his silence.

Under heavy scrutiny for allegedly making racially-charged comments and bullying and harassing teammate Jonathan Martin, Incognito told WSVN-TV: "I’m just trying to weather the storm right now. This will pass.”

He declined to comment on his remarks left on Martin's voice mail or his status with the team.

"You know, no comment right now," Incognito said. "We're just gonna kinda weather the storm, and that's it."

The Miami Herald has reported that Incognito is done with the organization.

He was replaced on the roster by signing offensive guard David Arkin off of the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad.

Meanwhile, Martin will continue to be paid during his absence as he wasn't placed on the non-football injury list and remains on the active roster.

The NFL Players Association issued a statement weighing in on the situation.

“We expect that the NFL and its clubs create a safe and professional workplace for all players and that owners, executives, coaches and players should set the best standards and examples,” the players' union stated. “It is the duty of this union to hold the clubs and teams accountable for safety and professionalism in the workplace.

“As the representative organization of all players, the NFLPA will insist on a fair investigation for all involved. We will continue to remain in contact with the impacted players, their representatives and player leadership.”
