The past few years have been a bit of a whirlwind for Naomie Harris. Following the British native's role in “Skyfall” she immediately went on to portray Winnie Mandela in the forthcoming flick “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.”
During the latest installment of The Hollywood Reporter’s “Hollywood Exceptions” series, Harris revealed the importance of meeting the South African politician prior to the film’s production.
“What was really important for me about sitting down with her was that I said ‘How do you want to be played, how do you want people to see you? And what do you want me to do?’” Harris asked. “And she said, ‘you’ve been given this role, and you’ve been given this role, because you can do it. So I trust that you’ve done your research and you interpret me as you see fit.”
